Cerebella is an artist, singer and songwriter from the southwest of Ireland and living in London.
Raised in Killarney in a family of Irish traditional musicians, she spent her childhood singing Irish traditional music as well as in every conceivable church choir, local ballad group and pub available. She would discover her true love, soul music, with the help of episodes of The X Factor: Motown Week and some old CDs belonging to her parents.
After building this foundation as a singer, she began writing her own music and played in a series of bands part-time before finally deciding to pursue music full-time. Since then, she has released her debut single in 2023 and her debut album, Self Harm Sex, in 2024 to great acclaim. She also toured the album across Ireland and played at a number of festivals. The lead single, Barbie Baby, has racked up over 5,000 streams and came with a steamy music video directed and edited by Cerebella herself which is currently sitting at 1.4k views on YouTube.
The same year, she was one of HotPress' four shortlisted acts in their Irish Music Month: A New Local Hero competition from Radio Kerry. Cerebella's sound draws from a variety of inspirations, ranging from country to soul to gospel to indie pop, culminating in a sound that she describes briefly as ‘pop with a 60’s twist.’ In June 2025, she moved to London in search of inspiration, learning and a bigger pond. She is now working on writing her second album while making her mark in the London music scene.
